What Is Buy It Back Day?
Planet Ark's Buy It Back Day will be held on Saturday 14 November 2020 during National Recycling Week. It is a day for the community to celebrate National Recycling Week with mindful purchasing by:
- Buying something secondhand
- Buying a product made from recycled materials
- Celebrate second-hand purchases
Why Should I Buy It Back?
Buying secondhand items or products made from recycled materials reduces your impact on the environment. It saves the resources and energy that go into making products from virgin materials. Buying recycled helps to close the recycling loop and support the circular economy rather than the take-make-throwaway economy.
Moving The Needle
Every 10 minutes Australians throw out approximately 6,000Kg of clothes. Give your clothes a new life by donating before you buy new ones.
Moving the Needle is an initiative that focuses on getting members of the public to donate their used clothing instead of getting rid of it in their household waste bin, with the goal of reducing the number of textiles in landfill by 20% by 2022.
Visit movingtheneedle.com.au to find your nearest donation point.
