Recycling Near You - Recycling Furniture in the Shire of Upper Gascoyne area

Furniture

In general, unless your item is made of pure metal, pure plastic or pure untreated timber it won't be recyclable.

Reuse, sell or donate

However, if you're looking to get rid of some unwanted furniture, or hunt down a pre-loved bargain then reusing, upcycling, donating or selling are great options.

If your furniture is in good condition plan ahead and sell it or give it away online via Gumtree, eBay, Tip Shop or a social media sharing group in your local area.

There are plenty of ways to find or get rid of good quality furniture: through Charity Stores, second-hand furniture shops, antique stores and through online forums.

If your furniture is beyond repair on not fit for reuse then you may be able to access your council's hard waste collection for pick-up. Or arrange a trip to the local tip.

Office furniture

If your workplace or business has a large quantity of furniture the same advice as above applies. Visit BusinessRecycling.com.au to find suitable collection or pick up service options.

Take it back

IKEA is currently trialling at their Tempe store in NSW a Furniture Take Back service. If the items are in good condition customers may be able to bring them back to IKEA Tempe. This is a way to upcycle unwanted goods instead of throwing them away and minimising the contribution to landfill.
