Recycling Furniture in the Town of Cottesloe area - Planet Ark Recycling Near You

Furniture

In general, unless your item is made of pure metal, pure plastic or pure untreated timber it won't be recyclable.

Reuse, sell or donate

However, if you're looking to get rid of some unwanted furniture, or hunt down a pre-loved bargain then reusing, upcycling, donating or selling are great options.

If your furniture is in good condition plan ahead and sell it or give it away online via Gumtree, eBay, Tip Shop or a social media sharing group in your local area.

There are plenty of ways to find or get rid of good quality furniture: through Charity Stores, second-hand furniture shops, antique stores and through online forums.

If your furniture is beyond repair on not fit for reuse then you may be able to access your council's hard waste collection for pick-up. Or arrange a trip to the local tip.

Office furniture

If your workplace or business has a large quantity of furniture the same advice as above applies. Visit BusinessRecycling.com.au to find suitable collection or pick up service options.

Furniture Buy-Back and Resell

All IKEA stores in Australia offer a furniture buy-back and resell service. If you are looking to part with old IKEA furniture in good condition, give it a second life and minimise your contribution to landfill.

Follow the steps via their online tool to obtain an estimate of your furniture’s buy-back value. Then bring the furniture, together with your estimate, to your preferred store.

Once a final agreed value is decided in person, this will be granted as a refund card. The preloved furniture will then be resold to a new home.
