Events & Notices

Waste oil can be deposited at the Flinders Shire Works Depot Office, Saleyards Road, between 8:00am and 3:00pm Monday to Friday. Please call ahead for disposal procedures on (07) 4741 1821 or (07) 4741 1288. Scrap metal including white goods and car bodies* can be disposed of for recycling at Hughenden Tip, Hann Hwy. *Car bodies and bulk items must be free of oil, fuel, other fluids and tyres and can be picked up by Council on request. Council regularly uses clean separated vegetation including tree brances and lawn clippings for mulching and chipping. We ask you to drop off your garden waste at the designated area away from the general waste drop off for this purpose. Further recycling facilities are planned to be incorporated in the design of the new Hughenden waste management facility comming in 2008.
