Events & Notices

Over the past few years, the residents of Baw Baw Shire have made great achievements in recycling. Also fantastic news - we can now recycle all plastic with numbers 1 - 7 in our area! There are also a host of other free recycling programs which you can take advantage of including free electronic waste recycling (such as computers, mobile phones and televisions) at all transfer stations in Baw Baw Shire. One major obstacle to maintaining recycling is the non-recycling products being placed in the recycle bins. Plastic bags, nappies, tree branches, and general household garbage contaminate recycling bins and cause it to go to landfill. Council also has to pay penalties for bin contamination which is eventually passed onto residents. Council has developed and provided a Recycling brochure to all residents. It can be obtained from Council’s Customer Service Centre. If you are unsure about what is recyclable please contact Janice Hawkey on 5624 2465 for assistance.
