Special E-Waste Collection - 16th May
Author: Claire Grant
This coming Saturday 16th is a great opportunity to recycle that old computer that's taking up space in the cupboard or that clunky old TV that's filling up the shed.
For one day only 88 Dick Smith stores across the country are teaming up Reverse E-Waste to offer a free collection service for items covered by the National TV and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS). Under the NTCRS TV and computer manufacturers and importers cover the cost of collecting and recycling old and unwanted items. Individuals can recycle up to three items.
Dick Smith stores in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Darwin are being joined by stores in towns as scattered as Fremantle, Kalgoorlie, Alice Springs, Cairns, Maitland, Coffs Harbour, Geelong, Mt Gambier and Davenport to offer this free service.
Accepted items include TVs, computers, monitors, laptops and printers.
Remember Dick Smith is also a collection point for our 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program. So dig out your old printer cartridges and drop them into the box in store so they can be recycled into pens, rulers, outdoor furniture or even added to new roads.
