Service description: Wyong Council now has a recycling program for residents to bring their unwanted batteries, light globes and fluorescent tubes to collection points around the shire. Batteries can be accepted at all drop off points - Civic Centre, Tuggerah Library, Lake Haven Library, The Entrance Library, Bateau Bay Library and Toukley Library. Fluoro tubes can only be accepted at the Civic Centre. Fluoro globes are accepted at Civic Centre, Tuggerah & Lake Haven Libraries. Please note: Fluorescent tubes and light globes must be clean and unbroken to be accepted at Council's offices. Fluorescent globes can also be disposed off for free as part of the twice-yearly Household Chemical Collection. The Buttonderry Waste Management Facility operated by Council can accept fluorescent globes, therefore they can be disposed of via the red lid waste bin. By taking your fluorescent globes to a collection point in the shire or the Household Chemical Collection you are ensuring that they do not go into landfill.
