Green waste drop and go
To make recycling of garden waste faster and easier, the City is expanding its network of green waste drop and go’s at our Waste and Recycling Centres (WRC) across the Gold Coast. These zones are now operational at the Reedy Creek WRC, Molendinar WRC, Merrimac WRC and at a new Green Waste Centre in Coomera.
You are now able to drive in and drop your green waste directly off the back of your vehicle or trailer onto a designated ground level area. This eliminates the need for lifting and loading into bins which means a faster trip and reduced waiting times.
Residents now have the flexibility to dispose of large quantities of green waste at their convenience.
All green waste must be separated and free from contamination. Please remember to cover your load while transporting your green waste to our facilities.
Recycle Street
A new initiative being rolled out across the City's waste and recycling centres aims to increase recycling rates on the Gold Coast. Part of our commitment to improving residents' recycling experience, Recycle Street aims to make recycling more accessible.
Customers using the self-service Recycle Street can quickly identify where to place their recycled goods with each item clearly colour coded according to type of material such as paint, motor oil, car batteries, and hazardous chemicals. Find out more about this initiative on our website.
