Did you know your recycling efforts along with our partners have achieved the amazing milestone of collecting over 45 million printer cartridges?
Ahead of Global Recycling Day on 18 March with its theme of 'Recycling Heroes', Cartridges 4 Planet Ark acknowledge and thank our recycling heroes across Australian workplaces, schools and councils.
The workplace program wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the ongoing commitment of our participating manufacturers, Brother, Canon, Epson, Konica Minolta and Kyocera. Collectively these manufacturers have proactively and voluntarily joined together to take responsibility for the end of life of their printer cartridges. With zero waste going to landfill, workplaces across the country have access to a free and accessible recycling program.
Cartridge recycling in Australia is possible thanks to Close The Loop, a Melbourne based recycler who are innovators in finding end products for recycled printer cartridges to. Next time you're out driving your car you may well be on a road made with their patented TonerPlasTM additive made from cartridge toner, soft plastics and recycled glass. This makes the road stronger and is more sustainable than standard asphalt.
We need more heroes like you and our partners to keep resources out of landfill through product stewardship programs such as Cartridges 4 Planet Ark.
Keep being a hero and help us meet our next target of 50 million cartridges recycled:
