What goes around comes around

The dates for National Recycling Week are Monday 11 to Sunday 17 November 2024. National Recycling Week, a campaign launched by Planet Ark, provides an important opportunity for councils, workplaces, schools and individuals to improve their recycling knowledge, build better recycling habits and build trust in recycling.

This established and highly regarded annual campaign continues to educate and stimulate behaviour change, by:

  • Promoting kerbside, industrial and community recycling initiatives
  • Giving people the tools to minimise waste and manage material resources responsibly at home, work and school

2023 Theme

This year, National Recycling Week explores the idea that What Goes Around Comes Around. Join your community and get involved in events that will cover topics like how to reduce your food waste, how to give resources a second life, how to reduce the need for newly produced resources, and of course, recycling. We want Australians to realise that a products end-of-life is as important as its original purpose. What goes around comes around, the higher the quality of materials put into recycling, the higher the quality of products these materials become. So, be sure your recycling comes back as something more than waste.

To help you recycle right we have new information this year on:

  • Events you can get involved with.
  • How to recycle packaging correctly.
  • Workplace activities
  • Curriculum aligned lesson plans
