Events & Notices

Council's kerbside and manual recycling service is now accepting all plastic containers from 1 through 7. Items such as margarine and yoghurt tubs, sauce bottles, egg cartons and biscuit trays can all go in the yellow lidded recycling bin. Plastic bags and styrofoam can't go in the recyling bin due to workplace health and safety and contamination issues. Please recycle your plastic shopping bags at Coles or Woolworths in the bins provided at selected stores. Council's Recycling and Resource Recovery Centre is open to residents and business users.The drop-off facility accepts paper, plastics (1 to 7), plastic packaging, cardboard, glass, cans, steel, furniture, timber, batteries, white goods, and any other recyclable product free of charge. The drop-off centre and sales yard are open 7 days a week from 7:00 am to 6.00pm at the Shoal Bay Waste Management Site, off Vanderlin Drive, Karama. Residents can also drop off small quantities of E-Waste and CFLS at the recycle shop. Please visit our web site for up to date recycling information and resources.
