Now you can recycle at Officeworks!
Officeworks look holistically at the lifecycle of products and is constantly looking at ways to reduce its environmental footprint. As well as reducing the amount of operational waste it sends to landfill, Officeworks also assists their customers with their own recycling journeys by offering drop-off recycling stations at every store for used printer cartridges and old mobile phones.
Officeworks is currently upgrading the recycling stations across all its stores to include even more products, such as batteries, pens, markers, computers and accessories, and printers. The national upgrade is currently underway, so watch this space to find out more, or look up your local store below to see which items it accepts.
Since 2005, Officeworks has been involved in the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark program. To date, over 7 million cartridges have been recycled through Officeworks, making it the largest retail partner to the program.
As part of its sustainability journey, Officeworks is actively working to reduce its carbon emissions and operational waste sent to landfill. During the 2019 financial year, Officeworks reduced its carbon emissions by 7% year-on-year (despite the opening of two new stores), primarily driven by the implementation of its Building Energy Management Systems and a new fleet of hybrid cars, which emit 53% fewer carbon emissions than the previous vehicles used. Officeworks also recycled 82% of its total waste generated, including waste from its stores, distribution centres and support centres.
