Zero Waste Audit Results for 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' Program Partner

The results of the annual audit of Close the Loop, the Resource Recovery Partner for the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program, have just been finalised. And great news, the audit has issued Close the Loop with yet another Zero Waste to Landfill certificate for 2016.
The zero waste promise is the key environmental outcome of the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ program and the main point of difference between our program and others. Congratulations to the team at Close the Loop and to the participating OEMs.
The waste audit was conducted by Exis Pty Ltd, an independent auditor who found that all material outputs are reused on-site or transported off-site for reuse or recycling.
"As resources become increasingly scarce and expensive it makes good business and environmental sense to develop recycling and industrial processes that keep valuable resources in circulation," said Planet Ark CEO, Paul Klymenko.
"Planet Ark is very proud to give its name and support to such a world leading program and congratulates Close the Loop on achieving zero waste to landfill yet again. We also congratulate the participating cartridge manufacturers - Brother, Canon, Oce, Epson, HP, Konica Minolta and Kyocera - for showing environmental leadership."
Close the Loop® has provided the collection, recycling and resource recovery operations for the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program since its conception in 2003. The 'Zero Waste' philosophy has been pursued for 14 years and continues to lead the electronics industry in e-waste recycling.
