    Hard Rubbish Service Details All Hume households can arrange for a free home pick-up of up to three (3) cubic metres of hard rubbish at their convenience. In addition, you can choose one of the following free options: 1 An additional home pick-up of up to three cubic metres of hard rubbish. You may choose to have up to six cubic metres collected all in one go by combining your collection entitlements; OR 2 Two visits to a Hume City Council landfill to dispose of either a single-axle trailer, car boot, van, station wagon, 4WD or utility tray (ute) load of rubbish; OR 3 One visit to a Hume City Council landfill to dispose of a double-axle (tandem-axle) trailer load of rubbish. How to Book Your Hard Rubbish Service Call Council on 9205 2200 between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday Advsie us of the hard waste items that you would like collected Make a note of your collection day. For a second home collection you must present your Hard Rubbish Pass (printed on your Rates Notice) for Council's contractor to validate. For landfill visits you must present your Rates Notice with the Hard Rubbish Pass at the entry gate for the Pass to be validated. If you are an occupant of a tenanted residence or an Office of Housing property You can obtain a Hard Rubbish Pass (entitling you to one of the options listed above) by visiting of Council’s Customer Service Centres at Broadmeadows, Craigieburn or Sunbury. Alternatively, you can arrange for a Hard Rubbish Pass to be mailed to you by forwarding proof of residency via fax, email or post. To obtain a Hard Rubbish Pass, tenants must produce photo identification showing their current property address, such as a driver’s licence. If photo identification cannot be produced, two other forms of suitable documentation must be provided, such as a: Government Health Care Card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card; Pensioner Concession Card; Recent public utility account notice (water rate notice, electricity, gas, or home telephone bill); Recent bank statement or credit card statement; or Current rent receipt. Please note: Only one Hard Rubbish Pass will be issued per household. Where to Place Your Hard Rubbish for Collection Once a date for collection has been arranged, please ensure that your hard waste is placed inside the fence line of your property, preferably on or near the driveway, for easy access and collection. No waste must be placed on the nature strip. Materials collected from the hard waste service are recycled where possible. Please refer to Council’s Hard Rubbish Service brochure for further information (available by contacting Customer Service on 9205 2200), as charges will apply if the conditions and load limits outlined in the brochure are not met.
